Our Mission:
To disciple, educate and train widows and orphans to know who they are in Christ and to be able to support themselves and their families.
Our Vision:
Through education and discipleship, widows and orphans will be Christ-centered contributors and influencers in their community.
Who We Serve:
We minister to widows and orphans in Bungoma, Kenya and Ndola, Zambia.
Widows: Women who are destitute, homeless and hopeless after the death of their husbands due to HIV/AIDS or other illnesses. Many are not educated or skilled and often turn to illicit activities to support themselves and their children.
Orphans: Unprotected children who are vulnerable to physical or sexual abuse, child slavery or human trafficking after the death of one or both of their parents.
Our Strategy:
Wiphan serves and disciples widows and orphans to empower them through the gospel, education and skills training to glorify God and to walk in the purpose He has ordained for them. Christians from Zambia and Kenya minister to the spiritual, educational and physical needs of the widows and orphans.
Spiritual: Widows and orphans learn about the saving grace of Jesus Christ through discipleship, mentoring relationships and Bible study.
Physical: Orphans and vulnerable children in Grades 1-7 attend school in a safe environment either at one of Wiphan’s primary schools in Zambia or at a government school in Kenya. All secondary students attend government schools where they are protected.
Educational: Education and skills training are key in empowering widows and orphans to break the cycle of poverty.
